Ys: Memories of Celceta is the 5th game that I played (others being Origin, 1,2, and Oath) and this is so far the weakest one even more than the bump combat games. Story is lacking something that makes Falcom games special, characters are whatever, and while I enjoyed the gameplay despite being meh about it, both Origin and Oath beat it by miles especially the boss fights. The music is still wonderful with Ancient...
So far, this is the worst Ys game I've played. The soundtrack is abysmal. The map is bugged, so you don't rightfully get 100% completion of the map that you have earned. The game feels like more was planned, but they cut it. The entire first half is a snooze fest. It is PAINFULLY unfunny thanks to the translation. I will forever hold it against the localizers for making a reference to Linkara...yes THAT Linkara in...
I don't get the "unsupported" rating - I completed the game exclusively on SteamDeck.
