Ignore the negative reviews, some turkroach got banned off the Hearts of Iron IV Discord for using some sus Politian literally nobody cares about as his pfp, so they're bot raiding all Discord servers for Paradox games and review-bombing them. Considered by many to be the best entry in the series, give it a try.
This is the one they should remaster. I love these older fantasy strategy games as they are lean and mean, no bs straight up gameplay. I've played the newer iterations too but those are so slow and bloated and I'm more in favor with pixel graphics than the typical 3d that is everywhere. Maybe make a pack of Age of Wonder 1, 2 and Shadow Magic with few modern touches, upscale the graphics yadayada. I would buy that...
