It is a top-down class-based looter shooter, basically 2D Borderlands with bits of an ARPG chimeraed in. My understanding is, game REALLY suffered from a weak start. A lot of top reviews complain about the issues that are since solved. There are some pacing and balancing problems that would have been ironed out, if the game just held on water for a little longer. It's like Borderlands if it was a top-down shooter instead of an FPS. Very fun and definitely worth playing.
