Overall, this was an enjoyable playthrough but not the most captivating game. There are a lot of great gameplay features that make it fun -- the spell casting/combat system is great, flying around the open world on a broom is great, and the castle is a really cool environment. I thought it was a pretty good gave overall but there were a few things that annoyed me. Tons of exploration and simple puzzles to solve. The combat was surprisingly good (on hard) but a few fights, (eg sparring match with students 1v4) were just awful due to the lock-on mechanics. Failing to lock-on, locking on to random objects, locking-on but attacking some other opponents anyway, etc. Flying around on a broom...
Played this on release on PlayStation, For a 90% discount it came out to about $6 for the full game and DLC, great price to replay and try it on PC. Combat is a highlight, exploring for levels instead of combat for leveling. Decent story, kind of whatever in my eyes. But being that most people that want this game, are interested in exploration of the castle and surrounding areas. Very Worth.
