What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
The value story
It has never been cheaper than $11.99. That was November 2023. It has been discounted 37 times in the 6 years tracked here, typically at 80 percent off, with about 6 weeks between sales. Today it is at full price. The last sale was about 6 weeks ago, and on this game's rhythm the next one tends to arrive within 6 weeks.
It is pricier than 99 percent of its genre. Dishonored®: Death of the Outsider™ ($29.99, scores 49) outscores it, and so does Dishonored ($9.99, scores 98). Both sit among its closest neighbours.
The press liked it more than its buyers did, 87 against 76 percent.
Players rate it 76 percent positive over its lifetime, but the last 30 days run 57 percent. Something recent has soured the room. 19 of the 800 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written November 2024 to September 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 42 percent of the 2,324 reviews written there were positive, against 76 percent overall, and those are 12 percent of everything written about it. It sells extras on top of the sticker price (time-limited); the score docks it lightly for that.
HowLongToBeat players log 16.4 hours as a typical playtime, and completionists log 36, 2.2 times as much.
Valve rates it Steam Deck Verified, so it runs on the handheld without fiddling.

What players say
I loved it. I enjoyed the story and figuring stuff out on my own. I was so motivated to finish this game. The fact that you can try different approaches, I get that some people found elements of it to be repetitive, but I feel like it was the point.. It's literally a loop... lol I didn't try all the abilities, since I am more of a sneaky player myself so I was too comfortable teleporting and turning invisible, to...

Honestly, I played this at release thinking it was going to another quality Arkane Game. It was a neat game with a cool concept. Ran pretty poorly but meh, modern games amirite. As of right now, its not playable. Literally. I installed this to give it another playthrough and it won't even launch. I can't imagine Arkane will even return to fix it. Disappointing

DEATHLOOP scores 39/100 on the BANG Score (a skip). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/1252330/deathloopThe BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Sep 15, price as of Sep 24.
