What players say
I love musous, but this one just felt incredibly bland in particular. The swap to weapon sets is something I'm not big on, and the best I can say is the art style is rather pretty to look at and the port is solid. Characters really lose their uniqueness without separate movesets, for some reason. I hope they don't continue this direction with the series.
Eh. This game is fine, but I can't recommend it. It's lacking a LOT of content compared to SW4, hell even SW4-II. Many character have been cut, since the period ends at 1582 at Yamazaki , and even with character cuts there are clones aplenty. Gameplay is good, Hyper attacks got nerfed a bit. I can respect them trying something new with the story. Citadel mode is trash, and you have to play it if you want to upgrade...
Samurai Warriors 5 is a solid pick if you want that classic Musou action without spending a fortune. It runs at about one third the price of Dynasty Warriors Origins during sales and actually launches fine on my PC. With everything maxed out the performance stays smooth and my GPU never even hit full load. No annoying stutters or optimization problems like some other games in the series. Gameplay feels like Dynasty...
