The value story
The lowest price on record is $20.99, set in April 2025. Its cuts run 40 percent off as a rule. There have been 15 in the 2 years tracked, about 8 weeks apart. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended about 4 weeks ago. No sale on record has reached $7.96, the price it would take to be a BANGER.
Value puts it in the top 10 percent of the games it competes with. It is pricier than 98 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 94 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Myst: Masterpiece Edition ($5.99, scores 66) beats it on value, while it beats Myst ($34.99, scores 44).
Steam's global achievement data puts about 19 percent of players at this game's ending achievement. On a 9.5-hour game, the hours short of it still count in its price per hour. This site sampled 508 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 13 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written June 2024 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 78 percent of the 303 reviews written there were positive, against 92 percent overall, and those are 11 percent of everything written about it.
It carries Valve's Deck Verified rating and runs 9.5 hours, about as long as a handheld game wants to be.

A worthy remake of a classic! It has been an overall good experience to visit the world of Riven again, and while I would not call it perfect, it is a great addition to my Mac gaming library. I went for all of the achievements, and it gave me an enjoyable 15 hours of gameplay. Likes - The puzzle tweaks from the original are good, and fitting for the 3D enironment - It ran fairly smoothly at medium-high settings on...
Visually stunning remake that has brought the original 1997 Riven to life in fully 3D-rendered environments, however the character design still feels really uncanny and they've reworked/simplified a lot of the puzzles. One of Riven's strongest attributes is that the puzzles don't really feel like puzzles, rather like obstacles that make sense in the world. More often than not, you will feel like you're interacting...
Its a beautiful remake of a classic among the genre. A first person puzzle game based around understanding and using big mechanical (and somewhat magical) machinery to travel through a magical and mechanical world. I had postponed playing this game for years and I can't but recommend it
