AN addictive hack and slash. play one charecter for 12 hours then come backand beat it with another charecter after a few games. good tunage . i can see myself coming back to this yearly. As with many of the shorther Ys games its a fun palette cleanser.

Ys Origin is a fantastic game and definitely a good way to get into the series itself. In spite of the game being old, the combat is smooth and engaging, featuring element-based skills (wind, fire, thunder) that can be charged for maximum effect. Overall, the gameplay is fast, hard, and a thoroughly enjoyable experience,
(transferred a save from another install. for first playthrough im doing yunica on nightmare, about 3/4 done.) I actually left a negative review for Oath In Felghana some years ago, which I've privated now since I don't agree with a good deal of what I said. Part of my negative impression was because I didn't understand something that's also true of this game: LEVELS ARE MANDATORY. This isn't kingdom hearts 2...
