I got into SHoDN back in 201X and decided to dust it off in 2026 for another spin. I have some negative nitpicks about some aspects of the game's design and unlocks (game is sorta old and it's whatever), but overall, this is an arcade-y classic for sure. This game came before its time. It feels absolutely amazing in your hands on controller. Reminiscent of an old vania style game that you would play at the arcade but with quality of life and gameplay improvements that make it very enjoyable for the modern age.
