What drives the score
How to read this
Grades run S to D, read from the buyer's side. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. How the grades work
- Steam lists in-app purchases but we have no detail on them. Small caution applied.
The value story
It has never been cheaper than $44.99. That was October 2024. It has been discounted 16 times in the 3 years tracked here, typically at 25 percent off, with about 8 weeks between sales. Today it is at full price, and its last discount ended about 13 weeks ago.
On value it sits in the top 49 percent of its genre. It is pricier than 98 percent of its genre. Among the games that feel like it, Worldless ($5.99, scores 90) beats it on value, while it beats Mighty Party (free, scores 3).
17 of the 529 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written October 2023 to August 2026. That is more refunded reviewers than 9 in 10 paid games this site has sampled to the same depth, and among the 3,162 games in its genre sampled this deeply, 259 have a larger share. The typical game sits near 5 in 1,000, so the score docks it. 3 of the 17 refunded reviewers were past Valve's two-hour window when they wrote the review. Inside the two-hour refund window, 52 percent of the 114 reviews written there were positive, against 75 percent overall, and those are 12 percent of everything written about it.
26.2 hours to finish it, 102 to exhaust it. The completionist tail is 3.9 times the campaign.

What players say
If it had Magichange, this game would be goated. But without it, it's just a good Disgaea game. Way better than 6, but not on the same level as 4 and 5, This game is about as good as Disgaea 3
Your typical Disgaea game. Which is a good thing. It has all the usual craziness. All the previous games main characters make a return so even if you can't get on board with the characters of 7 as long as you make it to near the end you will have someone you can identify with.
Rumors they paid 'others' to harass & 'dis' the team that polished yet another shameless plug abound, don't recommend
