Probably the best horror game I have played all year. When playing there was moments where I would literally choke up and be terrified. The monster design was amazing. I really like the way this dev did the sound. I would have moments that I didn't know if the sound I just heard was the game game, the game, or real life. I love stuff like that with horror games. You can clearly tell the developer is inspired from classics such as Quaker, Resident Devil and Silent Milk. Joke aside, Among Ashes is genuinely terrifying. Reminds me of games shared on /x/ 4chan message board. This is the internet I grew up with; file sharing shady games, talking about it on msn, reading forums and fan sites for clues. A really good creepypasta style horror game with a pretty unique concept. I really liked the whole idea of playing a game inside another game and how the two slowly start to mix together. The retro visuals also fit the whole thing perfectly and give it that old internet horror feeling. The story was probably my favorite part.
