It's a classic. It's something you don't really get in the modern age, a party RPG, meaning that their faces are in the UI frame surrounding the view of the world -- no individual toons. It's mostly tactics and occasional comments; no romance or histrionics or backstory angst. It suffers from the Daggerfall flaw -- in Daggerfall, the character builder offers a plethora of options, most of which are not viable...
What a long history with this game. I bought this game on CD-ROM about 2002. I played this game all the way through at least twice. I've played it halfway through another 10 times. This is the first and only RPG that was fully turn based mode, which through me off. I had played BG1, BG2, IWD1, Planescape Torment (Mostly Black Isle Studios and Interplay, which was propelled by the 3 dudes that created Bioware, along...
This is, hands down, one of if not the best RPGs ever. Ignore the obsolete graphics; but playwise the best what you can get. Learning-by-doing system; exotic char classes; special abilities for specific species and the cool and immerse comments of the avatars for nearly everything making you feel more connected... 10/10
