Grimrock 2 took me totally by surprise. This game flew under my radar for 12 (!) years, until I finally discovered it in 2026. What a breath of fresh air this game is-- pure dungeon crawlin' goodness, through and through and the game finds a nice balance between it's elements, namely: exploration, combat, and -the puzzles- When building your party of four, you get to choose from some unconventional races- I ended up...

Still holds up! A decent puzzle RPG with good replay-ability, interesting mechanics and story. It's the sort of game that needs a modern release without changing the formula (like DOOM did.)

About the game
Legend of Grimrock 2 is a dungeon crawling role playing game with a modern execution but an oldschool heart. A group of four prisoners have shipwrecked on the secluded Isle of Nex. The island is filled with ancient crumbled ruins, mysterious shrines and a vast underground network of dungeons.
