It's an enjoyable platformer, but feels a little basic. You obtain very little movement options that actually aid in battle, except for maybe two boss fights that force you to use your new abilities to dodge their attacks. Battling standard enemies becomes quite simple once you get the attack-attack-dodge pattern down. The fact that dodging is only available as a backwards dash severely limits combat dynamics and...
I'm a sucker for pixel art but that's just about all this game has going for it. With the exception of some of the area art theming, this game is unpleasantly generic and bland. The NPCs, the story, and the dialogue are high quantity and low quality in terms of writing. These things can be super subjective though, but it really doesn't work for me. The music isn't bad, but it's not great, and it would benefit from...
