What players say
Cannot take this 3D trash gameplay anymore gonna have to call it quits. Original is far better and memorable. Price was cheap to experience this horrible blast from the past.

Not worth your money in 2026. You'd be better off buying the Pixel Remaster. Game runs at 15 FPS in battles. A mod is absolutely mandatory if you don't want to spend 1 hour in a fight with basic trash mobs. This version of the game adds a bunch of unnecessary missable crap like Augments and its all just such a pain to try and get them all, its pointless bloat added on and detracts from the experience. It's just a very solid entry. Exactly what you expect. The graphics have a nice charm to them, and the 3D models can be very expressive during the voiced cutscenes. Combat still has that sense of teamwork and strategy that every RPG needs to keep from getting repetitive. The story is solid even if it's not the strongest in the series. But it's probably a good entry point since every game after this gets a bit more...
