Near all boomer shooters feel great to play, but in my experience (Ion Fury, original Quake, and Dusk) they get stale near the 70% mark. I think the fact that Doom doesn't have this problem speaks to its quality. It feeds you new weapons and enemies in such a way that there's always a fresh twist on the familiar. While it doesn't overstay its welcome, Doom also gives you plenty of time to enjoy its endgame toys.
I started playing this series in the early 90's when I was just a kid while visiting my dad at work. Using FAR Manager to launch Doom on his work computer is definitely a core memory. I got this game for the Xbox One when it first released in 2016 and have since bought it on PC. This is definitely still one of the best "Arena" Shooters around and the worldbuilding, graphics and DEFINITELY the soundtrack all...
