What drives the score

How to read this

Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.

The value story

It has never been cheaper than $11.99. That was June 2026. 38 discounts in the 5 years on record. They run about 60 percent off, roughly 6 weeks apart. Today's $11.99 at 80 percent off matches the lowest price in the record.

On value it sits in the top 11 percent of its genre. It is pricier than 99 percent of its genre, and better reviewed than 71 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Dying Light ($4.99, scores 88) beats it on value, while it beats Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition ($19.99, scores 26).

Steam's global achievement data puts 35 percent of players at this game's ending achievement. The median game this site can measure sits at 8. Players rate it 79 percent positive over its lifetime, but the last 30 days run 71 percent. Something recent has soured the room. This site sampled 800 of its Steam-purchase reviews; 2 were written by buyers who refunded it, sampled from reviews written July 2026 to September 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 54 percent of the 5,756 reviews written there were positive, against 79 percent overall, and those are 3 percent of everything written about it. It sells extras on top of the sticker price (time-limited); the score docks it lightly for that.

Finishing takes 24.4 hours; clearing it takes 102, which is 4.2 times the campaign.

Still 4.2K concurrent players, 4 years in.

It carries Valve's Deck Verified rating, which is the one that means it just works.

What players say

Dying Light 2 is such a great game. I understand why some people don't like it as much as the first game, but it was still such a great experience. I especially enjoyed playing it in co-op with my boyfriend, and just like with the first game, I think it's much better when you have someone to play with. Playing through the story together, doing quests, exploring new areas and fighting zombies is so much more fun when...

Daytime: You feel like an untouchable rooftop ninja. Nighttime: You miscalculate one jump, hear a Volatile hiss behind you, and remember what real panic feels like. The Reloaded update finally fixed the floaty combat and brought back the gritty physical impact the first game had. The parkour momentum feels responsive, dropkicking enemies off buildings never gets old, and night runs genuinely get your heart rate up...

Why did "The Breach" update remove the entire opening section of the game? You had the option to skip the prologue if you didn't want to play it. I lost the first 45 minutes of my game thanks to auto update smh.

The BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.

Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Sep 11, price as of Sep 24.
