About the game
As mankind races to create new weapons to turn the tide in its war against alien invaders, Yuuya, a hot-headed American pilot, is assigned to work with a beautiful but cold Japanese officer on a top-secret project. Can they learn to work together in time to make the weapon that saves us all?

This is a good visual novel. Like all the Muv Luv games it has great character writing, political writing, and a great sci fi story. It also has great production values, with a great OST, art, and some fully animated scenes. With just 3 chapters left I would have said that it's the best Muv Luv game apart from Alternative. While it doesn't quite hit the same emotional highs as Muv-Luv Alternative, Total Eclipse is still a great visual novel with a good setting, interesting characters, and compelling drama. I will say that the pacing suffers a bit, and there's a bit too much military technical jargon, but the strong characterization kept me interested even when there wasn't much going on plot-wise. This VN is very good. It has its highs and its lows. Overall it was an amazing story. Sometimes it felt very slow but at the end it felt rewarding for those who have read other VN from the muv-luv series. I highly recommend it. It's better if you play the prequel to this game before, namely "the imperial capital burns".
