I keep returning to this game one or two times a year when I want to play something like Hades that I haven't finished. Each time I am overjoyed by the familiar, and one hour later recall why I still haven't finished this. Progression is there, but requires hundreds of hours. And at best is a marginal boost. I love roguelites and enjoyed the first 10 or so hours of gameplay until I discovered that there is virtually no meta progression. Almost none of the unlockables are worth your time. You won't get stronger after each run, you just start over and over again praying to RNGesus so you can maybe beat more bosses. There is no combat variation, because it doesn't really matter which weapon you use. Just make sure it's not...
The game is not bad per se, but as many games nowadays it relies too much in RNG, not beng able to choose my starting weapon kills the mood, i have to use a weapon i dont rly like while i cannot play the build i am excited about, downer.
