Unlike many other RTS games of the time, I genuinely believe that this game has only gotten better with age. This game is much slower paced than most other RTS games, allowing me precious moments to read what's happening on the battlefield and react accordingly. Started with four Space Marines. Apparently that's enough to save an entire planet. The gameplay is different from the first Dawn of War. Less base building, more tactical combat. Take cover. Flank the enemy. Use abilities. Blow something up. Then repeat until the Emperor is satisfied. The campaign is basically four heavily armed men solving every problem by shooting it.
