What drives the score
How to read this
Every input gets a grade, S to D, read from the buyer's side. The score is multiplicative, so an input only counts as raising when it sits near the top of its own scale. Anything with real room left is holding the score back, because that room is the gap to 100. ▲ marks a lift, ▼ a drag or a dock, ? an input we do not have, • a fact this genre's score does not use. The exact weights stay secret.
- Steam lists in-app purchases but we have no detail on them. Small caution applied.
The value story
It has never been cheaper than $5.99. That was September 2026. 34 discounts in the 3 years on record. They run about 75 percent off, roughly 6 weeks apart. Today's $5.99 at 90 percent off matches the lowest price in the record.
At full price it scores 22. The current cut is what makes it a 29.
It is pricier than 98 percent of its genre, and less well reviewed than 66 percent. Among the games that feel like it, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora™ ($16.49, scores 47) beats it on value, while it beats Watch Dogs®: Legion ($8.99, scores 1).
4 of the 800 Steam-purchase reviews sampled here come from buyers who refunded the game, sampled from reviews written May 2026 to August 2026. Inside the two-hour refund window, 48 percent of the 2,203 reviews written there were positive, against 71 percent overall, and those are 7 percent of everything written about it.
Finishing takes 24.9 hours; clearing it takes 65, which is 2.6 times the campaign.

What players say
From the mixed reviews, I thought the game wasn't gonna be good, but it wasn't as bad as I thought Some things that I disliked is that they removed the ability to throw melee weapons & fists that were introduced in FC5, the world being overwhelmingly huge with less fast travelling points, and that I got a fever 2 weeks ago and had a dream and Anton Castillo was in it, he called me weak and then I woke up at like 4...
It's a good Far Cry game Hurk is not here but it's a good game, with a lot of fun stuff and content and all
WOKE GARBAGE! I've got the game for $7. never buy it full price. The game has a lot of fun things to do, I liked the map and many details in it. They did a great job, I liked the music, the vibes and the supremo feature. And adding the anti-aircraft system, check-points that they added, it's basically an outpost but a detail added since this is a country not a place controlled by a gang/group. I loved it so much...

Far Cry® 6 scores 29/100 on the BANG Score (a skip). The BANG Score rates what a game is worth for the money. Via Steam BANGERS. https://steambangers.com/game/2369390/far-cry-6The BANG Score is one number for value, 0 to 100: price against how it reviews and how long it was built to be. It answers the money question and stops there; whether the game is for you is still your call.
Reviews set the ceiling and price moves you inside it, so a cheap game that reviews badly cannot climb. Ratings from few reviewers are shrunk toward the middle, so 100 percent from nine people does not outrank 96 percent from ninety thousand. Length comes from HowLongToBeat where it can be matched, measured against a per-genre floor so a five-hour narrative game is judged against other narrative games rather than against a sixty-hour RPG. Where no verified length exists the score says so and carries a dock, because the biggest input is then a guess. The full method, including where it is weak → Steam reviews as of Aug 2, price as of Sep 23.
