Finishing is rare in Steam's own numbers. Half-Life 2 scores 98.4 and Steam counts 26.5 percent of its players at the ending achievement. Baldur's Gate 3 is at 6.3 percent. Two of the most loved games on Steam, and the credits are a rumor. That is why this list exists, and why it is only 153 games out of 95,417.

The gate is 40 percent completion read off Steam global achievements, plus a known length and a BANG of 80. Of the games that score 80 or better, 534 have a finish rate at all and 158 clear 40 percent. I chose 40 because that is where the score's finish bonus tops out. All Hail the Orb tops it: Steam counts 97.7 percent of its players at the ending, an 89.5 over 4.1 hours. BattleBlock Theater puts 85.8 percent at the ending across 72,994 reviews, a 100.
The bias is obvious once the list is in front of you. Short games win on completion because finishing them is easy, so the top of the page runs short. Achievement design matters too. The finish rate is read off the one achievement that marks the ending, and a game with no such achievement, or no achievements at all, never appears here, which quietly excludes a lot of older titles.
