Best of the 2020s

This decade's best value, ranked by the score.

Steam's output went vertical this decade. 69,273 of the games I score came out in 2020 or after, which is 73 percent of the catalog, and this cut keeps 251 of them: released 2020 or later, BANG 85 or better. Roughly one game in every 276 released this decade. The 2020 line is a decade boundary and nothing more, so the score bar is what actually filters.

OMORI leads at 99 with 21.4 hours and 87,872 reviews. Balatro is 97.6 on a main story of 7.6 hours, and I have put several times that into it, which the score has no way to know. Hades sits at 97.3 across 23.4 hours and 307,036 reviews. Satisfactory holds 97.2 with 107.2.

Recency is the problem. A 2025 release has had less time to gather reviews and less time to get a HowLongToBeat length filled in, so the newest entries are scored on thinner data than the 2020 ones. Nubby's Number Factory is here at 97.1 on 19,127 reviews, and I would treat that as less settled than OMORI's number. The 85 bar is soft too. Moving it to 84 adds 12 games, so nothing special happens at 85.
