Two numbers make the cut: a real price of five dollars or less, and a BANG of 76 or better. Not 85, where the BANGER tier starts everywhere else on the site. I dropped the bar nine points here and I would do it again. Under five bucks the downside is a sandwich. A game only has to be clearly good, not exceptional. At 85 this list is 277 games. At 76 it is 793. The extra 516 are the ones I would still actually buy.
The top of it is not shovelware. The Room Two sits at 99.7, three hours of puzzle boxes that hold up ten years on. The Room itself is a 99.6 across 31,630 reviews. Hexcells is 98.5, just under two hours of pure logic grid, and it has listed at $2.99 since 2014. Cube Escape Collection is 97.5. Vampire Survivors is 97.3 off 264,345 reviews and lists at $4.99, which is the rare case of a genuinely famous game that is permanently this cheap. Big-budget games pass through a list like this during a sale and leave again when it ends.
The obvious hole: 327 of the 793 have no verified length from HowLongToBeat, so their value read is thinner than the number looks, and 93 of them have under 500 reviews. Price moves too. A good chunk of this list is here because of a sale, not because the game is permanently cheap.
