BANGERS Under $5
Five bucks or less, and good enough that I would still buy it.
Two numbers make the cut. A real price of five dollars or less, and a BANG of 76 or better. That 76 sits nine points under the 85 where the BANGER tier starts everywhere else on the site, and I would drop it again. Under five bucks the downside is a sandwich, so a game only has to be clearly good. At 85 this list would be 130 games. At 76 it is 453, and the extra 323 are ones I would actually buy.
Start with the obvious hole. 245 of them have no verified length from HowLongToBeat, so their value read is thinner than the number looks, and 66 rest on fewer than 500 reviews. Price moves too, so a good chunk of this list is cheap this week and full price the next.
Tales of the Black Forest leads it at 99.9. The Room is 92.9 across 31,806 reviews, a puzzle box that holds up a decade on, which is not what a five dollar shelf is supposed to look like. Hexcells is 97, 2 hours of pure logic grid, and it lists at $2.99. Vampire Survivors is 94.9 off 265,571 reviews and lists at $4.99, a genuinely famous game that is permanently this cheap. Big-budget games pass through a list like this during a sale and leave again when it ends.
