Cult Classics
BANGERS almost nobody bought, capped at half a million owners.
132 games, under a cap of 500,000 owners, at least 200 reviews each, and a BANG of 84 or better. The owner cap does more than it looks like it does: SteamSpy estimates in buckets, and the bucket under half a million is three hundred fifty thousand, so nothing in this list is estimated above that. The 84 floor is high on purpose. At 80 the list swells to 223 and stops reading like a recommendation.
The review gate is the honest embarrassment. I wrote review_count >= 200 into the clause to keep nine-review shovelware out, and today it removes 0 games. The score already pulls thin-review games toward the middle, so nothing with nine reviews was ever reaching 84. It is a belt over a belt.
What is actually in here: Tales of the Black Forest leads at 99.9, 5.3 hours and 15,360 reviews. Neon White, the closest thing to a real cult classic I know of, sits at 76 and misses. Downwell is 87.7 with 6.4 hours and 8,632 reviews. And there is the problem with the label. Cheap and short wins the value math, so the top of this list leans to small, cheap games. Hexcells sits at 97 with 2 hours of content. Nobody has ever called Hexcells a cult classic.
