No-Microtransaction BANGERS

Written by Jordan Allen Lewis · list · updated 2h ago

Buy it once, own all of it. Top games with zero in-game spending.

94,631 of the 94,959 games I score register mtx_level 0. On its own a no-microtransactions filter does almost nothing: 328 games have any detected spending at all, and 29 of those score 84 or higher, so the clause removes 29 games. Both clauses are here anyway, zero detected in-game monetization plus a BANG of 84 or better, and 625 games clear them. I set the score bar at 84 instead of the 78 I use on softer lists because the score is the part doing the work.

Hexcells is 98.5 and runs 1.9 hours, and there has never been anything to buy inside it. Zup! S sits at 98.1 across 1.3 hours and 16,105 reviews. STEINS;GATE is 99.4 and 26.2 hours of visual novel. Pay once, get the whole thing.

Here is the soft part. mtx_level is read off Steam tags and store notices, so a 0 means nothing was detected rather than a human confirming the game is clean. A small game with a quiet cosmetic shop and no tag for it passes straight through. The cut also says nothing about DLC, which is how most premium games actually take a second payment from you. If your real complaint is a $40 season pass, this list will not help.
