Blockbuster BANGERS

Massively popular AND a real value. Millions of owners, and the score to back the hype.

Two hundred games on Steam carry a SteamSpy owner estimate of at least 5 million. Sixty-four of them also clear a BANG of 82, and that ratio is the point of the list. Being huge and being worth the money are different things, and most huge games are priced like they know they are huge.

I set the score gate at 82 instead of 78, and it costs me something real. Portal sits at 81.5 and misses. So does DOOM Eternal at 80.7, and Among Us at 79.8. Dropping to 78 would add seventeen games, and I would rather lose Portal than run a list where anything with a marketing budget qualifies. What survives is stuff like Left 4 Dead 2 at 97.1 with 10.2 hours and 1,050,532 reviews. Stardew Valley at 97.1 against 53.4 hours. Baldur's Gate 3 at 94.2 across 73.1 hours. That one earns the sticker.

The owner number is where this gets loose. SteamSpy reports in buckets, and there is no 5 million bucket: the neighbors are 3.5 million and 7.5 million. So at least 5 million owners really means the 7.5 million bucket or higher, and a game sitting at a true 6 million is invisible here. The cut also skews old. A 2012 game has had a decade to drift down the price ladder, and Satisfactory, out since 2024, has not.
